Week 7 Starts/Sits – TNF & 6pm Sunday

By Andy Goddard @Godsy1985

We are heading into week 7 of the 2020 NFL season, and things are starting to take shape. The Chiefs are back to winning ways, three teams remain unbeaten, the Jets still suck, the Falcons finally didn’t blow a big lead and no one wants to win the NFC East!

Did you scramble to claim Andy Dalton only to see him struggle against the Cardinals? Do you trust D’Andre Swift enough now to start him? And how much of an impact will Le’Veon Bell make at the Chiefs? It’s time for your week 7 early game starts/sits!

Don’t forget to keep your #EyesPeeled for tomorrow’s podcast where we dive into a full preview of the weekend games and make sure you head over to Twitter (@F10YFantasy) for “Start ‘em, sit ‘em, GIF ‘EM!”.

Thursday Night Football

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles

Start of the Game

Carson Wentz (QB) – Philadelphia Eagles

Wentz looked better against the Ravens and nearly lead his team back from a large deficit. Even though he couldn’t pull off the comeback, he showed positive signs against both the Steelers and Ravens and has a favourable matchup this week against the Giants.

Other Notable Starts

New York Giants – Darius Slayton (WR), Evan engram (TE)

Philadelphia Eagles – Boston Scott (RB), Travis Fulgham (WR), D/ST

Sit of the Game

Devonta Freeman (RB) – New York Giants

Freeman was productive against the Cowboys but only recorded 61 yards on 16 carries against Washington. The Eagles have a good run defence so he won’t be free to roam in this one and the Giants could involve Wayne Gallman and Dion Lewis more with a Thursday night game upcoming in week 8.

Other Notable Sits

New York Giants – D/ST

Philadelphia Eagles – N/A

Sunday Early Games

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans

Start of the Game

Chase Claypool (WR) – Pittsburgh Steelers

Claypool has been a revelation the past few weeks and there are no reasons to think it will slow down against the sluggish and overmatched Titans cornerbacks. Juju will always draw more coverage leaving Claypool to have another good day.

Other Notable Starts

Pittsburgh Steelers – Ben Roethlisberger (QB), James Connors (RB), Juju Smith-Schuster (WR)

Tennessee Titans – Derrick Henry (RB), A.J. Brown (WR)

Sit of the Game

Ryan Tannehill (QB) – Tennessee Titans

The Steelers defense gave up some points to Carson Wentz but Tannehill’s success is predicated off the play action pass. Pittsburgh have the players up front to slow Derrick Henry down and have the players in the secondary to cover the back end. The pass rush isn’t bad either!

Other Notable Sits

Pittsburgh Steelers – Eric Ebron (TE)

Tennessee Titans – D/ST

Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Football Team

Start of the Game

Andy Dalton (QB) – Dallas Cowboys

Andy Dalton wont be playing in prime time this week but he will lead the Dallas Cowboys to a win in this rebound game for the entire offense. Washington could barely contain the Giants in week 6 and Dallas has much more firepower!

Other Notable Starts

Dallas Cowboys – Ezekiel Elliott (RB), Amari Cooper (WR), CeeDee Lamb (WR), Dalton Schultz (TE)

Washington Football Team – Kyle Allen (QB), Terry McLaurin (WR),

Sit of the Game

Antonio Gibson (RB) & J.D. McKissic (RB) – Washington Football Team

The usage of the pair of Washington running backs is hurting their fantasy value. They may have a good matchup against a lacklustre Cowboys defence but can you be certain which one will be the lead back??

Other Notable Sits

Dallas Cowboys – D/ST

Washington Football Team – D/ST

Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets

Start of the Game

Stefon Diggs (WR) – Buffalo Bills

Diggs salvaged his fantasy performance against the Chiefs with a touchdown catch but he was still quarterback Josh Allen’s favourite target. He has a great matchup this week against the winless Jets and is a definite WR1 in fantasy in week 7!

Other Notable Starts

Buffalo Bills – Josh Allen (QB), Devin Singletary (RB)

New York Jets – Jamison Crowder (WR)

Sit of the Game

La’Mical Perine (RB) – New York Jets

Perine is supposed to get a heavier workload this week as he takes over the role from Frank Gore. The Bills are susceptible to the run but we need to see more to be able to trust him right now.

Other Notable Sits

Buffalo Bills – John Brown (WR)

New York Jets – Joe Flacco (QB), Frank Gore (RB)

Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints

Start of the Game

Drew Brees (QB) – New Orleans Saints

Brees is slowly regaining some form and with Michael Thomas expected back this week, he could be instore for a big game. The Saints can run all over the Panthers which would open up the passing game and could result in a lot of scoring.

Other Notable Starts

Carolina Panthers – Mike Davis (RB), D.J. Moore (WR), Robby Anderson (WR)

New Orleans Saints – Alvin Kamara (RB), Michael Thomas (WR)

Sit of the Game

Teddy Bridgewater (QB) – Carolina Panthers

The numbers for Bridgewater have been good and you may be tempted into starting him this week but it’s a trap game! The Saints know him well and will scheme accordingly. Too risky!

Other Notable Sits

Carolina Panthers – N/A

New Orleans Saints – Jared Cook (TE)

Green Bay Packers @ Houston Texans

Start of the Game

Robert Tonyan (TE) – Green Bay Packers

Tonyan had a slow game against the Buccaneers but he should rediscover some form this week. Tonyan is too big and too tough of a matchup for a defence that was just taken apart by Anthony Firkser!

Other Notable Starts

Green Bay Packers – Aaron Rodgers (QB), Aaron Jones (RB), Davante Adams (WR)

Houston Texans – Deshaun Watson (QB), David Johnson (RB), Will Fuller (WR)

Sit of the Game

Defence/Special Teams – Houston Texans

The Houston defence/special teams have been very consistent at the start of the 2020 season. They have scored 0 points in every week! In what is anticipated to be a high scoring affair, don’t think about starting either defence!

Other Notable Sits

Green Bay Packers – D/ST

Houston Texans – N/A

Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals

Start of the Game

Tee Higgins (WR) – Cincinnati Bengals

Higgins is the best outside receiver for the Bengals and he should keep his good form going against the Browns. Higgins is coming off a career best 125 yards receiving on 6 receptions and he seems to be gaining more trust every week, even with AJ Green and Tyler Boyd sharing the targets.

Other Notable Starts

Cleveland Browns – Kareem Hunt (RB), Odell Beckham (WR)

Cincinnati Bengals – Joe Burrow (QB), Joe Mixon (RB), Tyler Boyd (WR), A.J. Green (WR)

Sit of the Game

Jarvis Landry (WR) – Cleveland Browns

Landry isn’t exactly having a good season for fantasy owners. In week 6 he only recorded 60 yards on five targets and he is yet to register a touchdown in 2020. He is droppable in most leagues!

Other Notable Sits

Cleveland Browns – Baker Mayfield (QB), Austin Hooper (TE)

Cincinnati Bengals – N/A

Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons

Start of the Game

Matt Ryan (QB) – Atlanta Falcons

‘Matty Ice’ went off against the Vikings completing 30/40 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns! With the return of Julio Jones, he put his slow start behind him. This week he faces a Lions defence at home that are allowing an average of 379 yards and 27 points!

Other Notable Starts

Detroit Lions – Matthew Stafford (QB), D’Andre Swift (RB), Adrian Peterson (RB), Kenny Golladay (WR), T.J. Hockenson (TE)

Atlanta Falcons – Todd Gurley (RB), Julio Jones (WR), Calvin Ridley (WR),

Sit of the Game

Hayden Hurst (TE) – Atlanta Falcons

Hurst delivered a good performance against the Vikings with four catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. However, the Lions have been good at defending tight ends and Matt Ryan has other weapons to utilise.

Other Notable Sits

Detroit Lions – Marvin Jones Jr (WR)

Atlanta Falcons – N/A
