Week 7 DFS

By Dave Moore (@davieremixed)

Hands up who picked Jameis Winston & DJ Chark last week? Go on, we’re all friends here…There’s nothing to be ashamed of…Just be grateful the Bucs are on a bye week!

Enough living in the past, onto Week 7…

Quarterback – Jared Goff – $6,200 (LA Rams @ Atlanta Falcons)

This is not me making a case for Jared Goff as a renaissance QB, oh no. This is how little I believe in the Falcons D. They’re holding Matty Ice back from an impressive start to the season and are the reason the Falcons season is all but over.

The Falcons D has given up over 350 yards per game in the last four weeks and I – and most other Draft Kings previewers – believe that Goff will find his rhythm this Sunday. I very much doubt he’ll be as suffocated as he was by the 49ers last weekend and as such I’m expecting big, big numbers.

Running Back – Latavius Murray – $5,100 (New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears)

Alvin Kamara will surely sit this one out after dealing with knee and ankle injuries in the last fortnight. The Saints sit pretty at 5-1 and even a loss at the weekend doesn’t do too much damage to their playoff credentials given they’ve gone 4-0 with Teddy Bridgewater under centre.

This leaves the door open to Latavius Murray who looked pretty good against the Jags last weekend and with the Bears being a similar team to the Saints at the moment I can see a ground-based war of attrition this Sunday between Murray and Cohen.

Yes, the Bears D is still performing at a high level but the Saints O-Line is one of the best and I think a clock sapping run-first game will lend itself to Murray having a big week as a low-cost option.

Running Back – Devin Singletary – $5,400 (Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins)

This is a toss up between Singletary and Frank Gore ($5,200) as I can see both getting a similar amount of snaps. However, if the score starts to get ugly – which it will – I envisage Gore being taken out of the game sooner than Singletary as we the Garbage Time Klaxon (™) sounds midway through the third quarter.

Whilst only playing in two games before getting injured we saw him be a dual threat catcher and runner against the Jets whilst in the following game against the Giants he saw less of the ball but grabbed a score.

We all know how rubbish Miami are, they’ve gone Full Tank and you can expect the Bills to be merciless.

Wide Receiver – Calvin Ridley – $5,300 (LA Rams @ Atlanta Falcons)

I know I’ve just extolled the lack of virtue around the Falcons D but you can’t dispute that offensively, the Falcons are solid.

Julio Jones is questionable for this matchup but if he goes, expect new boy Jalen Ramsey to follow him everywhere which leaves Ridley with a more favourable matchup against their CB2.

He’s snagged a score in each of the Falcons last two games and the way Matty Ice moves the ball between receivers, Ridley is worth a shot as the Falcons – as per usual – will be chasing this game and subsequently be looking for deep threats like Ridley.

Wide Receiver – Stefon Diggs – $6,300 (Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions)

I benched Stefon Diggs in my Fantasy matchup last week. Then he goes and does that. Thankfully I still got away with a W but my patience was severely tested!

This means that I can’t not look to him for a big week against the Lions who face a huge mental challenge after being defeated by the Green Bay Officials on Monday Night Football.

One noticeable think was that towards the end of the game they did start to give up chunk plays to WRs and I can see Diggs (and possibly Thielen, $6,900) having big days here.

Wide Receiver – Auden Tate – $4,500 (Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cincinnati Bengals)

Hear me out. Some of the catches Tate made last week were unreal. The Jags have just shipped their best CB off to Los Angeles. The Jags are incredibly unreliable and the Bengals have to win at some point, right?

Tate went for 91 yards against the Ravens last week and got a TD the week prior against the Cardinals.

This is only a suggestion if you’re looking for a cheap option after going nuts on star RBs but I have a sneaky feeling that the banged-up-Bengals might get something out of their game this Sunday.

Tight End – Hunter Henry – $4,000 (LA Chargers @ Tennessee Titans)

Let’s enjoy Hunter whilst we can as there is no doubt an unfortunate leg injury waiting round the corner for him again. The kid can’t catch a break but still managed to catch 2 TDs and go for a cool 100 yards in the ridiculous loss to the Steelers on Sunday night.

He’s another low risk, high reward player for me along with the aforementioned Auden Tate. We all know how good Hunter Henry can be, we just need his body to hold out long enough for him to show us. I think the comeback continues in a must win match against a Titans side who may have already waved the white flag on their season.

Flex – Aaron Jones – $7,100 (Oakland Raiders @ Green Bay Packers)

Jones took a backseat against the Lions on Monday night but I believe he’ll be back in the mix as the Green Bay receiving corps seems to lose one pass-catcher after another.

This only presents an upside for Jones workload as a pass-catching back and with the Raiders giving up plenty of passing TDs already this season I expect lots of swings’n’screens to Jones…Assuming he can hold onto the ball this time.

DEF – Buffalo Bills – $4,300 (Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills)

They’re facing Miami…You don’t really need to know much more than that, do you?

If you’re looking to save $200 then go for the 49ers D on the road to the Redskins but it’s got to be Buffalo. Always.
