Week 12 Starts/Sits – Sunday Late Games, SNF & MNF

By Andy Goddard @Godsy1985

Week 11 brought up some interesting story lines! Taysom Hill showed that he can play quarterback, the Cowboys finally won a game, the Titans dented the Ravens playoff hopes and the New York Jets are the first team eliminated from playoff contention.

The five late games this week contain a divisional matchup from the NFC West as the San Francisco 49ers travel to take on the LA Rams and another showdown between Brady and Mahomes as the Chiefs head to the Sunshine State to face the inconsistent Buccaneers. It’s time for your late games starts and sits.

Don’t forget to keep your #EyesPeeled for tomorrow’s podcast where we dive into a full preview of the weekend games and make sure you head over to Twitter (@F10YFantasy) for “Start ‘em, sit ‘em, GIF ‘EM!”.

Spoiler alert: Tyreek Hill is a start ‘em.

Sunday Late Games

San Francisco 49ers @ LA Rams

Start of the Game

Jared Goff (QB) – LA Rams

In week 11, Goff completed 39 of 51 passes for 376 yards, scoring 3 touchdowns, but he did also throw two interceptions. He should see a high volume of work this week as the 49ers should shut down the Rams run game. When the run game doesn’t work for the Rams, Goff usually scores well in fantasy.

Other Notable Starts

San Francisco 49ers – Brandon Aiyuk (WR), Jordan Reed (TE),

LA Rams – Robert Woods (WR), Cooper Kupp (WR), D/ST

Sit of the Game

Darrell Henderson (RB) – LA Rams

Henderson was unproductive against the Bucs in week 11, rushing eight times for just 5 yards and adding just 4 receiving yards. This week he is up against a strong 49ers run defence. The rotation of the Rams running backs also doesn’t help any of their fantasy values. Sit them all!

Other Notable Sits

San Francisco 49ers Tevin Coleman (RB), Jerick McKinnon (RB), D/ST

LA Rams – Cam Akers (RB), Malcolm Brown (RB)

New Orleans Saints @ Denver Broncos

Start of the Game

Taysom Hill (QB) New Orleans Saints

In week 11, Hill started at quarterback for the injured Drew Brees and performed well. He completed 18 of 23 passes for 233 yards and rushed on ten occasions for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Hill completed multiple passes of 20 or more yards and will be the starter again this week against the Broncos. The combination of passing and rushing makes him a must start.

Other Notable Starts

New Orleans Saints – Alvin Kamara (RB), Michael Thomas (WR)

Denver BroncosNoah Fant (TE)

Sit of the Game

Melvin Gordon (RB) – Denver Broncos

Gordon finally produced some decent fantasy numbers in the week 11 win against the Miami Dolphins. He scored his first touchdown since week 7 but he is still splitting time with Phillip Lindsay, playing just 50% of the offensive snaps. He has a more difficult matchup this week against a Saints defence that have allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2020.

Other Notable Sits

New Orleans Saints Jared Cook (TE)

Denver Broncos – Drew Lock (QB), Jerry Jeudy (WR)

Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Start of the Game

Tyreek Hill (WR) – Kansas City Chiefs

Tyreek Hill is known more for his explosive plays than his high volume of work but against the Raiders he hauled in 11 receptions on 14 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown. The Buccaneers defence like to blitz opposing quarterbacks and this could leave Hill in man coverage. If that happens, Hill could be in for another good day.

Other Notable Starts

Kansas City Chiefs – Patrick Mahomes (QB), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB), Travis Kelce (TE)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Tom Brady (QB), Ronald Jones (RB), Mike Evans (WR), Chris Godwin (WR), Antonio Brown (WR), Rob Gronkowski (TE)

Sit of the Game

Le’Veon Bell (RB) – Kansas City Chiefs

Bell ran the ball seven times for 25 yards and a touchdown in week 11. He also caught his one target in his best performance for the Chiefs. The problem with his fantasy value is that he is more of a ‘change of pace’ back so his opportunities will be limited. Edwards-Helaire will carry the bulk of the load so its hard to pick Bell as a starter.

Other Notable Sits

Kansas City Chiefs – D/ST

Tampa Bay Buccaneers N/A

Sunday Night Football

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers

Start of the Game

David Montgomery (RB) – Chicago Bears

Montgomery should be out of concussion protocol for the week 12 matchup against the Packers. Before the injury, Montgomery was commanding a fairly large share of the touches and involved in 80 percent of the snaps for five consecutive weeks. The Packers struggle to stop opposing running backs so if he is good to go, start him!

Other Notable Starts

Chicago Bears – Allen Robinson (WR)

Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers (QB), Aaron Jones (RB), Davante Adams (WR), Robert Tonyan (TE)

Sit of the Game

Jimmy Graham (TE) – Chicago Bears

In week 11, Graham failed to record a single a reception on two targets. It wasn’t just Graham that failed though, the Bears offense could only muster 149 yards of team offense. The Packers are usually good with their tight end coverage and with the Bears offense stagnating, it could be another struggle for Graham.

Other Notable Sits

Chicago BearsD/ST

Green Bay Packers – N/A

Monday Night Football

Seattle Seahawks @ Philadelphia Eagles

Start of the Game

Russell Wilson (QB) – Seattle Seahawks

Wilson had an efficient day in the week 11 win against the Cardinals completing 23 of 28 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 10 times for 42 yards but did fumble the ball once. Wilson started the season exceptionally well but has fallen away recently. He has a good slate of games coming up and his production should improve greatly, just in time for the fantasy playoff season.

Other Notable Starts

Seattle Seahawks – Chris Carson (RB), DK Metcalf (WR), Tyler Lockett (WR)

Philadelphia EaglesCarson Wentz (QB), Miles Sanders (RB), Jalen Reagor (WR), Dallas Goedert (TE)

Sit of the Game

Will Dissly (TE) – Seattle Seahawks

For a forth straight week, Dissly recorded just one reception in the week 11 win over the Cardinals. He hasn’t been targeted more than four times in a single game this year and although the snap count is improving, the output just isn’t there.

Other Notable Sits

Seattle SeahawksN/A

Philadelphia Eagles – D/ST
