Week 11 Starts/Sits – TNF & 6pm Sunday

By Andy Goddard @Godsy1985

Week 11 of the 2020 NFL season is already here! This is flying by far too quickly! For most fantasy leagues the trade deadline would have now past meaning that, for the most part, you need to run with what you have.

Thursday Night Football and the early slate of Sunday games have some intriguing matchups with an NFC West battle between the Seahawks and the Cardinals, Jameis Winston likely to lead the Saints against the Falcons and a meeting between two 6-3 teams as the Titans travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. So who should you start and sit this week?

Don’t forget to keep your #EyesPeeled for tomorrow’s podcast where we dive into a full preview of the weekend games and make sure you head over to Twitter (@F10YFantasy) for “Start ‘em, sit ‘em, GIF ‘EM!”.

Thursday Night Football

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks

Start of the Game

Kyler Murray (QB) – Arizona Cardinals

With the help of DeAndre Hopkins, Murray performed a last second miracle against the Buffalo Bills in week 10 to win the game with a hail mary throw. He also completed 22 of 32 passes for 245 yards and one touchdown, whilst also rushing for another two TD’s. He comes up against the Seahawks defence this week so should pad those stats very nicely.

Other Notable Starts

Arizona Cardinals – Chase Edmonds (RB), Kenyan Drake (RB), DeAndre Hopkins (WR), Christian Kirk (WR)

Seattle Seahawks – Russell Wilson (QB), Chris Carson (RB) – if he returns, DK Metcalf (WR), Tyler Lockett (WR)

Sit of the Game

Carlos Hyde (RB) – Seattle Seahawks

At the time of writing, it is still unknown if Chris Carson will finally return from a foot injury that he suffered in week 7 but either way I wouldn’t be starting Hyde in this one. He is also coming off an injury of his own and the Cardinals have allowed just four rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs all season.

Other Notable Sits

Arizona Cardinals – N/A

Seattle Seahawks – D/ST

Sunday Early Games

New England Patriots @ Houston Texans

Start of the Game

Damien Harris (RB) – New England Patriots

It would appear that New England have actually found a lead back. The Pats usual have a ‘run by committee’ policy but Harris has shown the past few weeks that he can handle the bulk of the work. Against the Ravens, Harris had a career day rushing for 121 yards on 22 carries. Sony Michel could be activated off IR but Harris should continue to be the primary back against a Texans defence who cannot stop the run inside or outside!

Other Notable Starts

New England Patriots – Cam Newton (QB), Jakobi Meyers (WR)

Houston Texans – Deshaun Watson (QB), Duke Johnson (RB), Will Fuller (WR), Brandon Cooks (WR)

Sit of the Game

Ryan Izzo (TE) – New England Patriots

The Patriots aren’t using the tight end position like they have in the past. Izzo is involved in a high volume of the snaps but through 9 games, his highest number of targets is 3! Unless you are in a very deep league, there will be much better options available.

Other Notable Sits

New England Patriots – D/ST

Houston Texans – D/ST

Cincinnati Bengals @ Washington Football Team

Start of the Game

Antonio Gibson (RB) – Washington Football Team

Gibson had a good day against the Lions in week 10 rushing 13 times for 45 yards and adding two touchdowns. He also had four catches for 20 yards. He is sharing the load with J.D. McKissic in the passing game but Gibson is the RB of choice for goal-line work. He should see plenty of action against Washington.

Other Notable Starts

Cincinnati Bengals – Joe Burrow (QB), Joe Mixon (RB) – if he returns, Tyler Boyd (WR), Tee Higgins (WR)

Washington Football Team – Alex Smith (QB), Terry McLaurin (WR), Logan Thomas (TE), D/ST

Sit of the Game

A.J. Green (WR) – Cincinnati Bengals

Has anyone seen AJ Green? After a slight resurgence in weeks 6 and 7, Green put up another goose egg in week 10 despite playing 83 percent of the snaps and being targeted five times. He appears to have lost the ability to create separation and win contested catches. Green has caught just 45 percent of his passes this season and is facing a Washington defence that have been pretty stout against opposing wide receivers.

Other Notable Sits

Cincinnati Bengals – D/ST

Washington Football Team – N/A

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints

Start of the Game

Matt Ryan (QB) – Atlanta Falcons

In week 9, Ryan completed 25 of 35 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns with an impressive 8.1 yards per attempt. Its no surprise that his best performances this season have also coincided with Julio Jones being in the line-up. Ryan should be throwing the ball often in this one with the Saints defence being good against the run but seemingly unable to cover anyone!

Other Notable Starts

Atlanta Falcons – Julio Jones (WR), Calvin Ridley (WR)

New Orleans Saints – Jameis Winston (QB), Alvin Kamara (RB), Michael Thomas (WR), Emmanuel Sanders (WR), Jared Cook (TE)

Sit of the Game

Todd Gurley (RB) – Atlanta Falcons

Gurley had 55 yards and a touchdown on 21 touches in his last outing against the Broncos but he may struggle this week. The Saints have been nasty against the run so the Falcons will surely look to attack through the air. A touchdown may save his fantasy day but you cannot rely on that happening.

Other Notable Sits

Atlanta Falcons – Hayden Hurst (TE)

New Orleans Saints – D/ST

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Start of the Game

Ben Roethlisberger (QB) – Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are still unbeaten and have a great matchup this week against the 1-8 Jaguars. In week 10, ‘Big Ben’ threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns as they dominated the Bengals. They appear to have abandoned their run game and have realised they can just throw to their wide receivers each week for big yardage and touchdowns. Rinse and repeat this week!

Other Notable Starts

Pittsburgh Steelers – Chase Claypool (WR), JuJu Smith-Schuster (WR), Diontae Johnson (WR), Eric Ebron (TE), D/ST

Jacksonville Jaguars – James Robinson (RB), D.J. Chark (WR)

Sit of the Game

Jake Luton (QB) – Jacksonville Jaguars

Luton will be starting in place of the injured Gardner Minshew. In week 10, Luton went 18 of 35 for 169 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Against the Steelers formidable defence, don’t expect him to put up any great fantasy numbers.

Other Notable Sits

Pittsburgh Steelers – N/A

Jacksonville Jaguars – D/ST

Philadelphia Eagles @ Cleveland Browns

Start of the Game

Travis Fulgham – Philadelphia Eagles

Fulgham had just one catch from five targets in his last game, and that went for just eight yards! It was the end of a nice streak by Fulgham where he had at least 73 yards and a touchdown in four of his last five, prior to week 10. The Browns have been consistently exploited outside so he should see some work in this one. Even if I don’t trust quarterback Carson Wentz!

Other Notable Starts

Philadelphia EaglesMiles Sanders (RB), Dallas Goedert (TE)

Cleveland BrownsNick Chubb (RB), Kareem Hunt (RB), Austin Hooper (TE)

Sit of the Game

Carson Wentz (QB) – Philadelphia Eagles

Its hard to trust Carson Wentz right now. Even in this favourable matchup with some weapons back you should have better options. The weather may also play a factor here so I would be sitting him.

Other Notable Sits

Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Reagor (WR)

Cleveland BrownsBaker Mayfield (QB), Jarvis Landry (WR)

Detroit Lions @ Carolina Panthers

Start of the Game

Mike Davis (RB)Carolina Panthers

In week 10, Davis didn’t have his best performance of the season gaining just 32 rushing yards and 12 yards through the air. This matchup should favour him though if McCaffrey doesn’t return. Detroit are struggling to contain running backs whether they rush the ball or are used in the passing game.

Other Notable Starts

Detroit Lions – Matt Stafford (QB), D’Andre Swift (RB), Marvin Jones Jr (WR), T.J. Hockenson (TE)

Carolina Panthers – D.J. Moore (WR), Robby Anderson (WR)

Sit of the Game

Curtis Samuel (WR) – Carolina Panthers

In the Panthers week 10 loss to the Bucs, Samuel caught just three of his five targets for eight yards and rushed three times for 4 yards. With quarterback Teddy Bridgewater potentially missing the game, there will be better options, even within this game.

Other Notable Sits

Detroit Lions – D/ST

Carolina Panthers – N/A

Tennessee Titans @ Baltimore Ravens

Start of the Game

Lamar Jackson (QB) – Baltimore Ravens

In week 10, Lamar had a troublesome night in a wet Foxborough but he wasn’t exactly helped by his receivers or his centre! Jackson actually posted some nice fantasy numbers going 24 of 34 pass attempts for 249 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also added 55 rushing yards in the 23-17 loss. The Titans defence are middle of the road against the run so Jackson should look to exploit this.

Other Notable Starts

Tennessee Titans – Derrick Henry (RB)

Baltimore Ravens – Lamar Jackson (QB), Marquise Brown (WR), Mark Andrews (TE), D/ST

Sit of the Game

Ryan Tannehill (QB) – Tennessee Titans

Tannehill has posted back to back games with less than 160 yards and he is coming up against another top 10 defence this week when he faces the Ravens. It will come as no surprise that these performances have coincided with the Titans run game being shut down. Much of Tannehill’s good work comes off of play action passes and when that fails, he struggles. The matchup this week doesn’t look good.

Other Notable Sits

Tennessee TitansCorey Davis (WR), Jonnu Smith (TE), D/ST

Baltimore Ravens All Running Backs (Unless you can figure out who will be the lead back!)
