Without doubt, the biggest head scratcher of a fantasy football player is deciding who to start in their line-up each week. There is nothing worse than leaving a game on your bench and spending the entirety of the next week dwelling in hindsight.

Whether you’re in 1 league or 100 leagues, setting your line-ups is the most crucial part of your fantasy week and we’re here to let you know which players are in the best environments to boom and which are most likely destined to bust.

Don’t forget to keep your #EyesPeeled for tomorrow’s podcast where we dive into a full preview of the weekend games and make sure you head over to Twitter (@F10YFantasy) for “Start ‘em, sit ‘em, GIF ‘EM!”.

Spoiler alert: I can’t believe it’s Week 10 already, I’m already starting to pre-emptively miss football.

Thursday Night Football

Matchup: Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans

Gary McCullough - AP

Start of the Game

Michael Pittman Jr – Wide Receiver – Indianapolis Colts

I hesitate to call Week 9 against the Ravens a breakout game for Pittman Jr but he did lead the Colts in receiving yards and target. Additionally, the Titans are feeble against Wide Receivers so this could be a proper breakout game for him. As injuries, Covid and byes really begin to be a combined berserker on teams, MPJ (as the kids aren’t saying) could be a sneaky good pickup down the stretch.

Other Notable Starts

Indianapolis Colts – Nyheim Hines – Running Back

Tennesee Titans – A.J Brown – Wide Receiver

Troy Taormina - USA Today

Sit of the Game

Jonnu Smith – Tight End – Tennessee Titans

I know, I’m as shocked as you are. However, the Colts are great against TEs (as well as QBs) and it’s a Thursday night which means it’s Derrick Henry night! Much like Darren Waller against the Patriots earlier in the season, this could be a guy you see as a 16/16 starter but on this occasion, I’d sit him if you can stream an alternative this week.

Other Notable Sits

Indianapolis Colts – N/A

Tennessee Titans – Ryan Tannehill – Quarterback

Sunday Early Games

Matchup: Houston Texans @ Cleveland Browns

Troy Taormina - USA Today Sports

Start of the Game

Will Fuller V – Wide Receiver – Houston Texans

I smell a shootout in Ohio here which makes a singular Start ‘Em that little bit more difficult. Both teams are weak against QBs & WRs. In this instance, I’m going to show some love to a guy I’ve maligned this season. Will Fuller V – the next Green Bay Packer until he wasn’t – torched the Jags going 5/100/1, I fancy another big day for him this Sunday.

Other Notable Starts

Houston Texans – Brandin Cooks – Wide Receiver

Cleveland Browns – Jarvis Landry – Wide Receiver, Rashard Higgins – Wide Receiver

Troy Taormina - USA Today Sports

Sit of the Game

Duke Johnson Jr – Running Back – Houston Texans

With David Johnson in the concussion protocol, Duke Johnson Jr will likely be the lead back for the Texans but the Browns D is pretty good against the run and I’m not a massive fan of the Texans backfield as a whole anyway. His rush line from Sunday reads as 16/41/1 (2.6 YPC). Against a tanking Jags team. I don’t like this matchup one bit for D-Double-J (sorry) and you should sit him if you can.

Other Notable Sits

Houston Texans – N/A

Cleveland Browns – David Njoku – Tight End

Matchup: Washington Football Team @ Detroit Lions

Geoff Burke - Geoff Burke

Start of the Game

Antonio Gibson – Running Back – Washington Football Team

Washington will move onto their third choice QB in Alex ‘Lazarus’ Smith this week but the real thing to watch is impressive rookie Antonio Gibson who will go up against a team who love to give up points to RBs. Whilst I believe in Smith, I forsee a run-heavy game for the Football Team here and subsequently a big day for Gibson. This is all predicated on Gibson starting, if he can’t go then start J.D McKissic who will be their lead back.

Other Notable Starts

Washington Football Team – Cam Sims – Wide Receiver, J.D McKissic – Running Back

Detroit Lions – N/A

Paul Sancya - AP

Sit of the Game

Matt Stafford – Quarterback – Detroit Lions

The Football Team’s D sits in the top ten against QBs and is unbeatable against WRs. This spells trouble for a Lions team who are seemingly stumbling toward another losing season. With that in mind, I’d advise sitting Stafford who should be good to go after clearing the concussion protocol but better streamers are available this week.

Other Notable Sits

Washington Football Team – N/A

Detroit Lions – Marvin Hall – Wide Receiver

Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Green Bay Packers

Stacey Revere - Getty Images

Start of the Game

Robert Tonyan – Tight End – Green Bay Packers

The vast majority of Tonyan’s season total came against the Falcons (6/100/3) and in the four subsequent games his combined total is still lower than that Week 4 mauling of Atlanta. However, this week he’ll get back on track against a Jags team who are weak against TEs. This was a close run race for SotG with James Robinson possibly playing the Dalvin Cook role this week, keep your eyes peeled for that.

Other Notable Starts

Jacksonville Jaguars – James Robinson – Running Back

Green Bay Packers – N/A

Kyle Terada - USA Today Sports

Sit of the Game

Jamaal Williams – Running Back – Green Bay Packers

The Packers backfield resembled the line to the British throne in recent weeks as we got to the Queen’s-cousin-twice-removed type players in Dexter Williams and Tyler Ervin getting talked up as feature players against the 49ers. As it happens now, Aaron Jones is back so all Packers backs must be cast to the bench. Nothing personal, Jamaal Williams. You’re just not Aaron Jones (assuming he actually stays healthy for the rest of the week…!)

Other Notable Sits

Jacksonville Jaguars – Jake Luton – Quarterback

Green Bay PackersN/A

Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants

Chris Szagola - AP

Start of the Game

Jalon Reagor – Wide Receiver – Philadelphia Eagles

Bit of a bold one here but stay with me. Please. Jalon Reagor had a promising return from injury against the Cowboys in Week 8 and he should now see an increase in snaps and subsequently targets. The Giants are pretty weak against WRs (and in general) and in what is a must-win divisional game for both sides I see Reagor being that slightly leftfield player having the breakout game.

Other Notable Starts

Philadelphia Eagles – Travis Fulgam – Wide Receiver

New York Giants- Evan Engram – Tight End

Matthew Swensen - New York Football Giants

Sit of the Game

Devonta Freeman – Running Back – New York Giants

With the Giants having this backfield-by-committee approach it’s hard to make a case for Gallman/Morris/Freeman to be ‘the guy’ to start in your league. With Morris headed back to the practice squad it leaves Freeman likely sitting behind an in-form Gallman so let’s sit him this week against a team that is top ten against the RB.

Other Notable Sits

Philadelphia Eagles – N/A

New York Giants- N/A

Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers

Jim Brown - USA Today Sports

Start of the Game

Ronald Jones II – Running Back – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Oh boy did I whiff on picking Brady as my SotG against the Saints. Yikes. Also in breaking ‘Oh boy news’, you’ve now got an angry Bucs team coming to a berserker Carolina team who will at worst, make you work your backside off to come away with a win. The one real issue I can see from a Fantasy perspective is that they are favourable to start RBs against. Go with RoJo to put the Bucs on his back and get them right.

Other Notable Starts

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Leonard Fournette – Running Back

Carolina Panthers – Mike Davis – Running Back

Mark J Rebilas - USA Today Sports

Sit of the Game

D.J Moore – Wide Receiver – Carolina Panthers

There’s been a noticeable drop off in Moore’s production in the last two weeks and I don’t see it improving against – as I’ve mentioned – an angry Bucs team. Whilst he did torch them for 120 yards on 8 catches in Week 2 I don’t see history repeating itself after lacklustre performances against the Falcons and Chiefs. Run CMC going down for this game may aid Moore but I am really not convinced.

Other Notable Sits

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Antonio Brown – Wide Receiver

Carolina Panthers – Teddy Bridgewater – Quarterback
