Gulp, we are headed into week 4? How? Crazy but true. Here are some quick facts about the 2021 season along with the start/sit for the end of the week. If you are reading this article please give me a follow for more articles.
- Two rookie’s are tied with 7 Interceptions (Trevor Lawrence & Zach Wilson)
- Derek Carr is leading the lead with the most passing yards (1203) Brady is 116 yards behind him
- There are 4 starting QB’s who have not thrown an interception this year: Cousins, Wilson, Daniel Jones and Teddy Bridgewater
- Cooper Kupp’s ADP during the draft season was in the 5th round (WHAT!)
- Daren Waller & Travis Kelce have the same amount of receptions on the year
- Dallas Schultz has more yards/points/receptions/TD’s than Kyle Pitts
- Darnell Mooney is playing 96% of the snaps (dynasty buy low)
Woah, didn’t I mean the other Wilson? Well sure Russ is an easy must start but I am talking about the rookie Zach Wilson who is leading the NFL in Interceptions. So why would you take a chance on starting him? The Titans defense has 1 interception on the year, allowed the 6th most points on the season and are 26th in tackle for a loss. Wilson and Corey Davis will score a TD this week ( watch out DFS fans). Surprised to see him struggling this year? He has faced two 3-0 teams (Denver/Carolina) and Bill Belichick’s famous defense against rookie QBs. He is currently QB 30 on the year, and has scored 4.90 fantasy points in the past 2 weeks COMBINED! This is a bounce back week for the kiddo who has scored 2 TDs on the year (even Davis Mills did that in his first NFL start). You find Zach Wilson in the love to try and come back, averaging over 33 passing attempts in the past 3 games, I think garbage time can be calling his name.
Honorable mentions: Joe Burrow, Sam Darnold
Benching the number 7 QB in week 3 isn’t an easy choice (there are actually a ton of good matchups this week and very, very very few poor options; wink wink for DFS players don’t worry about paying up this week). So why would I say that? The freight train (Yeti as the Fantasy Footballers call him) is steam rolling the NFL right now and the Jets do not stand a chance against him. Henry has rushed for 63 times in the past two weeks (35- Week 2 and 28- Week 3). I’d expect this game to get out of hand pretty fast. Tannehill is expected to be without AJ Brown and Anthony Firkser (Two starting assets for the passing attack). Henry will continue to get more receptions out of the backfield and can easily take one to the house, but I expect this to be a ground and pound game to get out of New York with limited injuries.
Honorable mentions: Ben Roethlisberger, Jameis Winston
2 attempts in week 3. TWO. That is terrible for the Eagles. Sanders looked electric when he rushed in week 3. The Eagles are looking to make a name for themself after that upsetting performance in Dallas. KC defense does not scare you as a fantasy QB and neither should it be as the starting RB for the opposing team.4 reception’s in week 3 is why Sanders has a safe floor next week. The Eagles are expecting to be behind in this game. Sanders is 26th in the ranking and has yet to score a TD this year. This week should be a higher than average week for him to get into the endzone.
Honorable mentions: Chase Edmonds, Lenoard Fournette
This Sunday Night Football game will be one of the highest views this season. Brady is returning to his 20 year former life to face off against Mac Jones. The Bucs defense is getting crushed through the air and Bill Belichick will know how he can get his rookie QB in the right mindset. This will be a committee backfield even more than ever with James White going down indefinitely. The Bucs are top 5 against the run. Find a better option this week after his week 3 dud, better games will be on the horizon going forward for the former Alabama star.
Honorable mentions: Josh Jacobs, Chuba Hubbard
Ever heard of the Jalen Ramsey treatment? Yeah that is where Jalen Ramsey follows your best WR on the team (Hopkins) around everywhere on the field, making it extremely difficult to get open against one of the best corner’s in the league. Which helps Kirk’s value. This could easily be a Ronald Moore or an AJ Green game, but I believe Kirk will get the biggest bump in targets and value as this is expected to be a shootout. I want to be apart of this game. Kirk is currently WR 15 on the year, at least 4 targets and 65 yards in each game with over 14 yards per target. The 4th year player is making a case to earn a nice payday if this keeps going.
Honorable mentions: Chase Claypool, Terrance Marshall, Corey Davis
What is Bill Belichick known for in the NFL? Shutting down your number one receiver. Tom Brady know’s Bill extremely well and knows the game plan on what the Patriot will be running Sunday night. As much as Evans is an alpha receiver, he can get shutdown with double coverage. I’d say in a PPR league he will be a flex contender this week but with his usage in the redzone, that might be a way to salvage his day. The weather is predicted to be unfavorable, which Brady knows how to play there however I’d find a way to move off of him this week.
Honorable mentions: Kenny Golladay, Jaylen Waddle, Brandon Aiyuk
Quietly the number 5 TE on the year, 6th in receptions, and tied for 3rd in TD’s on the season. Schultz is continuing on his strong run with building a strong connection with Dak. Schultz has yet to be held without a catch since the end of the 2019 season (yes all of 2020 he always scored some fantasy points). With Cooper dealing with a rib injury, and Carolina lost Jaycee Horn and Jarwin splitting time with Schultz, you can do A LOT worse in the TE landscape.
Honorable mentions: Tommy Tremble, Dallas Goedert
Woof, talk about a big regression. Currently TE 25 on the season and a big touchdown dependent player, Tonyan has lost his ability to be a must start in any platform. Aaron Rodgers has looked for him in the redzone so you can play your shot however I’d find a better option. He has only received 8 targets on the season. Not looking promising to finish at a top fantasy option on the season.
Honorable mentions: Jared Cook, Evan Engram
