The one thing all of us fantasy players dread the most, injuries. Unfortunately, this is part and parcel with NFL life and it’s inevitable that at some point during the season one or more of your players will have the dreaded “questionable” or “doubtful” tags. The tricky bit is wading through the reports to find out the true status of your fantasy stud. Fantasy players are very often used as decoys when injured to fool defences, so it’s important that we’re sure that a player is 100% healthy before deploying into a line-up.
This article will take a look at the top injury concerns that we’re hearing about this week and provide a recommendation as to whether they should be starting for you or if you need to pick up their handcuff from the waiver wire.
Don’t forget to keep your #EyesPeeled for our Twitter feed (@F10YFantasy) this Sunday as we’ll be providing you with updated on the below mentioned injuries.
Top Injury Concern
DeAndre Hopkins – Wide Receiver – Arizona Cardinals
It’s been quite the start to life in the desert for Hopkins and he is on pace for a not-too-shabby 1,600 receiving yards on the reason. Despite having no pre-season, Hopkins and Murray have hit it off and it’s an exceptionally favourable matchup for them this week, as they face a Seahawks secondary that is bleeding points to the wide receiver position.
Hopkins has been struggling this week with an ankle injury but head coach, Kliff Kingsbury, is ‘hopeful’ that Nuk will be able to go – even if it’s not at the full capacity we’d like. Regardless of what % he’s at, if he starts, he plays for you.
The only additional caveat in this game that you should be aware of is the fact that this is Sunday Night Football. As with any questionable player headed into the late games, you need to have a contingency plan as, if Nuk doesn’t play, your replacements are limited.
Other Injury Concerns
Aaron Jones – RB – Green Bay Packers
Gameday Status: Game Time Decision
Aaron Jones didn’t flag up on the injury report until late (well, UK late) on Friday evening. Since he’d not had an injury designation throughout the week, Twitter quickly put 2 and 2 together to get 19 (COVID-19 that is). Aaron Jones was eventually found to be dealing with a calf strain.
Jones, when interviewed, gave the impression that his absence was more precautionary than anything and was hopeful that he’d be good to go for the tilt against the Texans. Again, if Aaron Jones starts in this matchup, he starts in your fantasy lineup.
Robert Woods – WR – Los Angeles Rams
Status: Expected to play
Like Hopkins, we’re featuring a wide receiver who is questionable heading into one of the prime time games. Although McVay is “expecting” Woods to play as oppose to Kingsbury being “hopeful” that Hopkins will. Regardless, it’s a tough matchup for Woods against a secondary who has allowed the 27th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Woods has been great so far, which is the reason why you’re starting him if he plays. But it may be wise to leave the Monday night headache alone this week and start somebody else considering the matchup.
